The Love Wager is a friends to lovers, fake dating, one bed forced proximity trope romance that delivers all it promises. Jack and Hallie meet at Jack’s sisters wedding. Hallie is bartending when Jack is ordering some drinks, gets accused of flirting, and breaks up with his girlfriend/soon to be fiancé. Hallie and Jack meet again through a dating app where both are looking for love, but not with each other. They make a wager on who can find love first helping each other along the way.

This is a fast moving book with witty dialog that does not take itself too seriously. In fact at one point in time, it calls itself out on falling into the trope. The relationship between Jack and Hallie, while it started out with a bang, slowed burned most of the way through the book. The author did a great job at building the tension between Jack and Hallie until there was no other option. I read this book through in one sitting staying up way too late.

Just OK…Very predictable “boy meets girl” story. I couldn’t even remember the name of it while I was reading it. It works for an ok beach read

Better than the first. So much fun!
