This was a lighthearted, fun, and genuinely funny read. I could totally relate to the way dating apps felt more like a chore than a chance at love! Some of the dates described were hilariously familiar—I’ve definitely been on a few like those myself. The banter between Hallie and Jack was a highlight; their witty exchanges had me laughing all the way through.
a book published within the short window between red (taylor’s version) and when the diddy stuff came out.
this was cute! very rom com vibes. let’s get this on the big screen! but i’ve been saying that about like every book i’ve been reading. i think i just yearn for a movie adaptation.
not to be like so insanely toxic but like they were never just friends and the whole girl and guy best friend convo thing YAWN. but the fact that they freaked and were like “yeah no we had no chemistry like let’s just be wing-people” man shut up. i KNOW yall wanted to freak again. save me the read✋
4 stars tho bc jack wanted her and BAD. but next time, let’s just not fake sleeping while she’s leaving the hotel and then maybe you don’t have to be confrontational at the pet store.

this book is so cutie. i looooove a fake dating trope and i love when characters have witty banter. hallie is such a freak (in the best way possible) and i love a main character that’s a genuine weirdo and not a weirdo in a “i’m weird bc i read books and wear glasses” kind of way if you know what i mean. anyways, i love watching people fall in love and this was just so well done <3

okay better than the last one but still made me cringe and think they were being super stupid pretty frequently soooo….
at the beginning I could not stop noticing similarities between the characters (apart from Jack and the others being in the last one) like between Liv and Hal and made them hard to distinguish. at one point I was mixing up their exes and that was weird

lol I just realized I read this in a span of 30 hours minus the time I was asleep.
Really easy, fast read. Best friends, fake dating, one bed scenario. Wasn’t my read, but was a good one. And I thought these two— Hallie and Jack are so funny!!!
