Was good was fine was hwat!!
This was an easy read. I wish there was more stakes I guess... (I'll think a little longer on this). I felt like something was missing to get it to that 5 star read. I'm a slut for a Greek retelling no matter how loose. I loved the idea of the title was passed down to others-- no immortality which sometimes I find its like cheating and lowers the value of some decisions characters can make.

i didnt love it and i didnt hate it.
its an interesting retelling of the hades vs. zeus rivalry. i appreciate that persephone while initially a victim (of zeus), was not characterized as such for the entirety of the book. Katee Robert makes it clear that consent is an important theme in the story and there is no such thing as "all good" or "all bad." the style of storytelling reads as though the series Kaos may have been informed by it.
the bdsm and super kinky parts of the book were definitely the best parts, but there wasnt nearly enough of it. the addition of group scenes/ a more poly dynamic would have definitely brought my star vote above 4. there was so much hinting at it, only for nothing to come of it.
i did enjoy seeing persephone, a character meant to be seen as innocent and virginal, turning out to be anything but.
