Horrible. Awful. This woman should not be allowed to write. Cannot get over the review I read on Goodreads that just said "HE HAS A FOOT FETISH". I should have DNF'd.

Persephone and Hades but add more *spice*
Okay so I was so very excited for this book and although it didn’t live up to my very high unrealistic expectations, I kinda liked it. This is the first book I’ve read based on greek mythology so I had no idea what to expect and honestly think I simply set the bar to high.
This was an easy read that hooked me from the very first sentence. The beginning was so very exciting and the banter, the openness during sex and the easy way these characters communicated were some of things I liked about this book.
What stopped me from giving it a higher rating was the worldbuilding, or rather lack thereof, and the way their relationship developed. I think the author could’ve made something big out of this, but the way everything was described made me feel like it was missing something. Like she painted the bigger picture and forgot to fill in the details. And it was the same with their relationship. At times I felt like everything was fast paced or too perfect for me to properly enjoy and fall in love with this book.
All of that is not to say I didn’t actually like this book, because I did. And I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series. What I want you to get from this is, maybe manage your expectations. It’s a good book but not a great book… at least for me.
“Hades is not safe. He’s so far from safe, I should be rethinking this bargain before it’s even begun. I can tell myself I have no choice, but it’s not the truth. I want this with every shadowy part of my soul that I work so hard to keep locked down. There’s no room in the public narrative of the sweet, sunny, biddable woman for the things I find myself craving in the dark of night. Things I’m suddenly sure Hades is capable of giving me.”

Oh, this is just ridiculous. I sigh, letting my exasperation through. “Silly me for thinking that you’re among the percentage of the human population that doesn’t worship at the altar of the hymen.”

Oh, he is too delicious. I can’t help leaning a little forward, pulled by the sheer gravitational force he exudes. “I agree to your terms, Hades. Protected by you, belonging to you, and having depraved public sex with you, oh my.”
The spice? Unreal - not the best book I’ve ever read but I definitely couldn’t put it down. Fifty Shades of Grey-esque, but the scenes are more detailed (you know the scenes I’m talking about). Definitely don’t regret picking it up, but it’s one of those books that I won’t be rereading and will only be recommending to my spicy-loving friends
