Honestly the plot was entertaining, but since Quinn was required to do quite a bit of "new world" building (same universe, just wholly new characters), it did seem to feel a bit long and dragged at times. The plot seemed to come at the expense (to an extent) of the characters themselves. However, I still found it enjoyable overall, however rushed the ending felt.

Full disclosure, I have not read the Lost Duke of Wyndham, but they are obviously completely entertained, just from different perspectives. My assumption is that whichever one you read second will feel lesser, since it rehashed the same exact plot.

I think I might have enjoyed this more if it wasn’t a copy paste of the exact same plot of the book before it.
I think the duo could have become one larger book from 4 POV’s instead so that it covered everyone and we didn’t get any repetition.
It was different in these sense that this is the first book where there really was no romance between the two before and we saw that.
I didn’t like that one bit, I like my men obsessed with their future wives!
Despite that all, it was a nice story.

I haven't read the first companion book to this one (The Lost Duke of Wyndham)and rather wish I had before picking this one up. Even without reading the first book, it's obvious that it's plot intrudes into the story of this one. Maybe they should have just been one book that told the whole story? A little disapointing.
