If you love small town gossip and twisty tales, you will be blown away by this new favorite of mine.
Plus, the narration by Devon!! The very first paragraph she spoke I paused the audiobook and relistened to it again and again, loving that southern drawl. I knew immediately she was the perfect narrator to play the characters in this book!

The good thing about this is that is short, otherwise is pretty repetitive and nothing really happens till the end.
The ending is a bit surprising but i don't think it compensated for the long, repetitive chapters.

It was a huge struggle to get though this but it picked up a bit and I was intrigued I did think I knew the ending but I was wrong!
I gave the book 4 stars cause I was really hoping for a better ending. like why did they have to kill him? I wish he was alive and that she created a part two.

I enjoyed how this book kept me guessing but then came together in the end, even if it went a bit over the top.

Not a "wow," but a good book
After reading the Amendment series, I was ready for the same level of suspense from Modglin, but the plotline of this novel was too easy to figure out. At times, I found myself annoyed with the main character, especially her self-deprecation. I know this was supposed to enforce the idea that she was subjected to emotional abuse by her husband, but it only served to make it difficult to understand why she never put the pieces together before. All that snooping, and you never looked in your closet?
