This book was so well written. There were times I had to think about if I wanted to pick it up because of the emotions it invoked. Fast pace, good story, great characters.

A very enjoyable mystery with a twist at the end. I’ve now read 3 of Allen Eskens books and have found them to be delightful. I totally enjoy his characters and the progression of the mystery. He doesn’t kill you with so many characters you start losing track or more details that mean nothing.

I did not see the twist coming! If you want a fast paced book, this is it. Audio version was great.

I enjoyed this book even more than The Life We Bury, the first book of Allen Eskens that I read, which introduced many of the characters we revisit in The Stolen Hours.

It was good to see a shift in focus with Lila as the main character. The pacing was also really good. The tension was maintained without the need to make anyone do something silly.

And even the rock climbing, as much as you would definitely provide someone with more briefing than Andy gave Lila, was fairly accurate, clearly written, and relevant to the plot.

An interesting concept that was presented from all angles through the alternating POVs. The exploration of trauma and mental illness didn't feel filtered and was extremely believable which is very refreshing. The story felt very realistic which drew me in and made me want to know what happened.

If you are a fan of strong FMC then you are definitely going to be a fan of Lila. She's smart and determined and I love that for her.

The story overall was entertaining and written well, but personally wasn't my favorite. The plot twist left me wanting more and I wasn't over the moon by the end. That being said, it was still a pleasant read that I enjoyed.

This reads like a good episode of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. You know who the bad guy is from the start, and the satisfaction comes from smart procedural moves between the good guys and bad guys. Very compelling from start to finish

If you have read Allen Eskens other books you should be familiar with Joe and Lila. This book focuses Joe Talbot's girlfriend Lila Nash. It is a fast paced legal thriller, with strong female characters. Once again Eskens has created another hard to put down read.
