okay so in the first 30% ive been a little underwhelmed, but then i loved it. even though i feel like the size of her boobs was mentioned way too many times, like we get it, theyre big. i also loved that characters from other books appeared. i feel like the endings in books of this series are a little drawn out but i guess it could be worse.
maybe this is spoilery but this was enemies to friends to lovers but i really didnt like how the enemies part was done, like if you hate each other, stop talking about how hot the other person is. i really got into it when i got to the friends part, pining and all.

I enjoyed this one. Took me a while to really get invested but that's a 'me' thing not a 'writing' thing. I do enjoy that there's an animal in each book that the characters somehow communicate with. Even in a fantasy world with magic it's a nice whimsical touch.

Every book keeps getting better and better! I loved this story almost as much as Trick. Don’t let the “Pinocchio” bit fool you. This story is so beautifully done, and had me ugly crying several times.

I love that each book following Trick adds just a little to Briar and Poet’s cause. What excited me the most was seeing Nicu beginning to grow and evolve into an intelligent and wonderful young man who just wants to be seen as a person. And to make his own choices and have control over his own life. Not only do you get a love story between Aire and Aspen, you’re also seeing a much older Poet learning he can’t always keep his son close. As a parent, he’s on that road of learning to let go so Nicu can establish a life of his own.

This story hit me with all the right feels, some hitting closer to home. Now to start reading “Dream” and see how Nicu’s story ends. I’m just sad it’s ending so soon!!! This series has come to mean so much to me.

I just couldn't get into the writing. Also this is like a Pinocchio retelling which is definitely not my favorite. Will read the next book in series and see if it's better.

I pleasantly enjoyed this Pinocchio re-telling it was refreshing with the gender flip. Aspen the live string-less marionette was such a sassy character that brought a quality of brazen and conceitedness that was not tasteless or annoying. I loved how she had a big commanding present in front of everyone without being dismissive or dismissing anyone. She requires undivided attention with a no apologies you take her or leave her, but it will be unforgettable. The blooming relationship between between Aspen and the first Knight Aire was so nice and mature. Natalia paced their desire for one another into a satisfying climatic fairy-tale of what it takes to sacrifice and fight for love.

I was also very pleased and very excited for Nicu present as well as to be back in the realm of autumn. As a reader we get to see him shine and struggle with love and independence. I actually would have loved some chapters from his POV to be honest. I wanted to follow Nicu’s journey and hopefully we will get more from him down the road.

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH. Honestly, reading Natalia Jaster's books are like falling into my happy place. She can do no wrong with her gorgeous writing and wonderful characters.

In Lie we find a Pinochio-inspired character- Aspen, a girl with woodskin and whose nose grows when she lies. Aspen meets Aire, a noble knight of Whimtany, honest and swift with his sword.

With beautiful prose these characters are brought together against a gorgeous Autumn backdrop and heart-hurting circumstances.

Reasons to Read and Things to Love About Lie:
- an abundance of snark! Wit! Humour!
- swoon-worthy enemies to lovers romance that doesn't take the entire book to happen!
- have I mentioned the GORGEOUS writing yet?
- adorable characters
- finger puppet shenanigans
- a badass bird sidekick!
- Nicu (he get's his own dot point bc he's the best)
- the actual fantastical setting of these books. It's just so *happy sigh*
- a plethora of fun characters to meet
- the cover. Did you see it? Amazing.

If you've been following the series since the beginning, there's also a starring role for fan-favourite character, Nicu! We met him as a child in book 1, and here he is again, 17 years old and an absolute sweetheart (he also gets his own love story in book 4 - Dream coming Feb 2019, but that's a different story, one I'm far too ecited for).

Please do yourself a favour and pick up these books. Like, honestly, you won't regret it, there's so much to love.

Disclaimer- I recieved an early e-copy of this book for review, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved getting back into the Foolish Kingdoms. Loved Aspen and Aire, and their story. Also loved Lyrik and Nicu and can't wait to read their story.
