This book is one of the most important books I have ever read. It gave me a grounding in the horrors of the Native American genocide, and how that style of take-no-prisoner mass annihilation seeped into our culture and into the American presence around the world. I really feel it is a must read.

i struggled to stay invested in this. I wanted something different. i felt like i was reading alot about battles and wars and I was hoping to hear more about Indigenous peoples' life and strength and resilience as opposed to just this battle or this war. I still want to learn more I just think this book wasnt for me.
