Dunbar-Ortiz takes an unflinching look at the history of Indigenous people in the United States pre and post colonization. In this important work, she details imperialism, broken treaties, the systematic approach of the U.S. government to colonize the United States, and genocide and how these factors continue to perpetuate systemic racism. This book should be required reading for all high school students and adults; I highly recommend this book!
