i loved the dark elements to this one! laylas stuck between two worlds and it has great tension. ready to read the next one. fav part was the riddle from the seer and the reflection pool adventure underground. i feckn loved the bonus roth pov at the end!! you just KNOW shes gonna try and find roth in the next book. those two are cute af.

I can't pick my favorite JLA book, but I will say that I've read this whole series about 8 times and I love it even more each time. It incorporates lore that we've heard about before but with unique twists that really makes this story it's own. Layla is such a special character, apart from what she is, but who she is on the inside and I just want to wrap her in a hug and let her know how awesome she is. Zayne is such a great guy and I love him, but......ROTH, he's just it and there's no denying that fact *insert heart eyes for days*
The first maybe half of the book was just drawn out and annoying. The last 25% was pretty darn good.
