I really disliked this book, I had so many problems with it that I can't even say I enjoyed my time reading it and I only finished because I want to add it to my Reading Challenge. Most of Jennifer Armentrout's books follow pattern: there's usually a half-half main character (half-warden, half-demon in this case, but there's also half-human, half-alien and half-human,half-greeksomething), a love triangle with a very good guy (in this book he hunts demons) and very bad boy (in this book he's a demon) and the bad boy represents something that is going to ruin the world and our main character needs to it. I read the entire Half-Blood series from her and I loved it, but now I'm getting tired of this whole thing and it feels like I'm reading the same novel over and over again. I love her writing and I think she a very creative and talented author, but please give me something new! I think I gave this two stars because I fell bad giving one star to books, but I really did not enjoy it. The slut-shamming was also the worst!

Middle school me would have ate this up completely. Not at all a diss to the book.
Loved White Hot Kiss! It took me a little while to actually get into it. I was so annoyed with the way Layla thought of everything as right or wrong and there was no middle ground. Once she started to broaden her way of thinking, I was much happier and was really able to enjoy the adventure and the romance. Let's talk about the love interests. Okay, so I know this book didn't really show us much of Zayne, except for Layla's obvious crush on him, but I still found that the little I saw of him was frustrating. Probably because I know he's supposed to be the other point in this love triangle, and I always have a hard time with people who grew up as brother and sister getting romantically involved. I'm not referring to situations were it's "oh we've been childhood friends and now it's turning to more," no I'm referencing full on lived in the same house, had the same parents, you know were treated as brother/sister. Anyway besides that one aspect of their relationship, Zayne also just came out boring to me, like I said that's probably cause we didn't see much of him in this book. Still, argh even his nickname for her, Layla-bug, sounds like something a brother or parent would have for their child. I just couldn't get behind Zayne. Now Roth on the other hand, whew hoo, him I could get behind, or I guess in front of, lol. Roth was sexy!!! There's no other way to put it, he was just sexy. He taught Layla that not everything is black and white. That she is more than just half of what she is and should embrace both halves. He is the delicious bad boy with a heart, and that was just fun to read. I know it's been done before, it isn't anything new, but yeah it was still fun. In my opinion Layla grew with Roth. She did things that maybe were not smart, but needed to be done in order to learn and grow from those mistakes. She stopped being the helpless girl in the corner with no clue of what's going on, and instead took an active interest in finally learning about herself. So yeah, I completely want her to end up with Roth when all this is over, sorry Zayne you're a nice guy, but go Roth! Other than the romance, I liked the whole demon and gargoyles story, I liked her human friends and thought they brought a much needed sense of normality, not only to Layla's life but the book in general. White Hot Kiss was a fun read.

"the idea of spending the night with Roth made me want to giggle and break out in hives." Lmaooo
This is what the whole book is like basically I think urban fantasy is just not for me because everything was making me cringe. Maybe it's also because they're teenagers and talk like teenagers and I want mature characters... so I guess books about teenagers not for me either.
The plot was interesting, the love triangle with Zayne bland, not every book needs a love triangle....
Overall ok but i don't think I'll read the next book.
Also if you're making a popculture reference you shouldn't have to explain it...

I LOVED this. A couple cheesy teen moments but a fun world, sinful love interests, quick paced plot made this a book I couldn’t stop reading. And I actually screeched when I read
