This book was good! I think any author can get me if a male protagonist is pierced. There's Drake, Cage, and now Roth. Mmm I loved pierced men!!! But I really enjoyed this book for other things, like gargoyles, who would've thought gargoyles could be so awesome?! I give this book 4 stars for a breath of fresh air.
I really enjoyed the book. Set in DC (woot woot), it's always fun to have a book set where I live. Not many YA (urban) fantisies are set in DC that I know of other than the books by JLA. It's a wonderfully engaging read and I could relate to Layla. Roth is just a whole other sexy tattooed demon. While they are supposed to be enemies, they work together towards a common goal. Layla is a little different than the other Wardens and there's discriminiation towards her because of her lineage. Looking forward to reading (listening) the next book!

This book was so good! I love the main character Layla, who is half demon and half warden, basically two polar opposites. She has been raised by the Warden and told to suppress her demon half. She has just turned 17, an important age for anyone, but even more so for Layla as she comes to find out later. Oh, and did I mention Roth?! I mean come on...he is the bad boy, the one you fight liking, but end up loving. Their banter was great and I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
