It’s sooooo gooood and I’m sad this narrator didn’t do the rest of the serieeeesss

this was great. middle grade fiction can sometimes cater ONLY to a middle grade audience, but this was not that. i loved how the dialogue just zinged off the paper, and how each character was so tonally different

I loved the Bartimaeus books. I thought "Heroes of the valley" to be a really lengthy and boring book, so I was rather torn when this new series started.

But I did love it! A lot of humor, a fresh idea for a plot, ghosts, another dash of humor, a lot of action and adventure and friendship.
Sounds like a perfect mixture for me!

This is YA 12+, so it isn't too complex. But if you like to read YA fantasy, than I wholeheartedly recommend this one.
