MMC was two different characters in first half to second half. Totally unrealistic. No pull through of any personality traits and reforming them.  Just too different

Why have a scale of 1-5 stars if there are books crafted and designed to fit 500, 1000, 1000000 stars?

Because it's all so erotic, so delightful, so beautiful, so nerve recking, so...

That AUDITION? Pure fire to the imagination and to my voyeur soul...

That scene with the Steinman piano? That was L-O-V-E.

And when I read a scene like when Brendan is (finally) aware of Marlowe and Tabby's real existence and real life? That broke me💜 That moment I knew it all changed for that man. And for Marlowe and her so much needed HEA.

As a mother of a little human with a health condition, that back then had a life-or-death surgery at his young 15 days of his newborn fase, that lived 33 days in a hospital? That slept a few hours each of the 33 nights in an armchair besides his hospital little bed? As that mother that I am, I will forever treasure Marlowe in my heart. I feel her. I know what is like to be her. To forever and ever love your child for his amazing smile and his curiosity and his way of being, despite his health. To be able to do ANYTHING for that small part of your heart that is your child.

And the grovelling, Elodie? THE grovelling. You and your words and your male characters and the way you have our hearts. And our souls. Jesus...

Ooooooohhhhhhhhh and that Bonus Epilogue? That epilogue was EVERYTHING. I couldn't hold my tears.

So good! I loved how the mother was just desperately trying to get her daughter the medical care she needed. Love.

The plot was good and stressful and I cried a few times

Okay, I’ll be honest. This book made me so angry. I read the alchemy series and loved it, and the first book in this new series was excellent. But this book? Absolutely not. The MMC was a literal pig of a man. I couldn’t stand him and the way he thought about and spoke about women was honestly disgusting. Then all of a sudden he has a come to Jesus moment and now he’s a new man? Yeah, I don’t buy it. Not for a second. The only reason it’s not 1 star is because I loved the whole mother-daughter aspect and the storyline for that, otherwise it would be a lot lower. Wouldn’t bother with this one truth be told. Check your trigger warnings and happy reading!
