This book will make you cry, you should read Salvatore and Dominic first to understand how Sergio's story fits into their stories so you know if you want to read it.  The author has written a letter in the front of the book and at the end and she explains why she wrote Sergio's story and I'm so very happy that she did.  It's the first time I've read a book like this and I went into it with my eyes wide open knowing how this story would go and I'm so happy I read it and that the author wrote his story.  After reading Salvatore's story and then Dominic's story things came to light but reading Sergio's story, even more questions were answered that Salvatore and Dominic didn't know so it was good to read this book and get more background.  What's most important to me was even though the events of this story took place before the other two brothers, this story was written and placed after theirs in the Benedetti Brothers Book and I think that's important in the telling of events.  Some readers won't like this book and that's ok, I LOVED it!

Even knowing how this was going to end this story hurt to read. This is a prequel of sorts and it does not have a happily ever after as Sergio is already dead in the first 2 books.
We get to see how Sergio and Natalie met, both times, the first time he saves her from being raped during a convenience store robbery when she's 14 years old, the second time she accidentally spies on meeting/beating in a warehouse she just wanted to photograph for a school project. Their relationship is short, intense and full of angst.
This was a very intense read and I was basically weeping for the last few chapters of it, so I 100% recommend this if you want to stab yourself in the heart with all the emotions. I appreciate that she didn't pull any punches or miraculously bring him back to life, it makes the story so much more because it's believable.

Every once in a while you come across THE ONE-that book that rips out your heart, tears it to shreds and takes a piece of it so that you can never glue it back together properly. You’re left walking around with this gaping hole and it HURTS. So. Much. This is what Sergio did to me. Despite it being a short novel, it managed to affect me in such a profound way. When Natasha Knight put her warning at the start of the book I thought she might be exaggerating. She wasn’t. This isn’t a typical love story. This is Sergio and Natalie’s story and it’s raw and real. I honestly have no words to describe Sergio, only Natasha can do it and damn she did it well. I felt every emotion Sergio and Natalie were feeling because the writing sucked me in and didn’t let go. I don’t think it’s ever going to let me go. Thank you Natasha Knight for listening to Sergio’s voice and writing his story-I’m so honored I got to read it.

I can't really do a traditional review of this book. This author is a fantastic writer of that there is no doubt, so please don't take this review as negative. There was a lot that was good for sure. That said, the author explains in a note at the beginning that Sergio was a secondary character in another book and she had no plans on writing a story about him. I *think* perhaps, in my opinion, he should have remained a secondary character.

I have so many thoughts and feelings right now about this one. Some are positive. Some are negative. I am angry. I am pissed off. I am sad. I am confused. None of which I can elaborate on because I don't want to spoil this book for other readers. Unfortunately, because of that, I can't give this book more than 3-Stars even though, as I said above, 95% of it was very good. It is what it is, and I can't help but feel this book served no point. *shrug* But like I said, this author is an excellent writer, and I am just one person. I am sure many people will love this book. So yea, that is pretty much all I am going to say about that.

I'm so damn mad! I'm just going to say this does not have an HEA....wish I would have read more reviews. I'm done right here.....

Ok, so this is a DARK romance, when I say dark I mean a Dark Mafia romance where the hero is an anti-hero. This is my first Natasha Knight book and I like that she is really upfront about this not being a sunshine and roses book. But I respect that she is up font about that and I went into this read with my eyes open if you will. I love a good anti-hero book where you alternate between hating and loving the male lead. Which done well is the whole point of a Anti Hero book, I think that this book has done it well. I don’t really want to go into the plot mainly because I am not sure how to do that without any spoilers. I guess what I am trying to say that if you are in the mood for a DARK, STEAMY and potentially UGLY CRY book then give this a try. I am using all caps for a reason people… just to warn you.

I am destroyed!!!
Sergio by Natasha Knight has ripped my heart out and stomped all over it.
Leaving behind a bloody mangled mess.

I knew exactly what I was getting myself into from the get-go.
So I have nobody else to blame but my own stubborn arse for thinking I could handle the fallout of such a profound and deeply emotional read.
I am not saying a word about plotline or character development, what made this good, what got on my proverbial wick.
Why I liked this one and why I wanted to kick that one's arse.
All I'm going to say is read "Sergio" a Dark Mafia Romance, and prepare yourself.
You are going to be ripped limb from limb and left sobbing like a baby.
I can't even talk about this book without tears dripping down my face.

My DP thinks I've lost the plot, you know what he said, people?
You do know their fictional Characters "BOO" like not real people, made up?

How dare he!! they feel so real, alive and vital to me.
And that there lies the crux of this conundrum.
If an author can make you experience such depths of emotional despair than that is, in my humble opinion, one hell of a writer.
And this author is ultimately one brave lady, telling this story exactly how she envisioned it.
Not how others wanted it.
I'm impressed, still broken but entirely bowing down to your genius here.
So I am going to finish on this note "Sergio" is a story that will live in the depths of your soul long after the lights go out.
Its a beautiful, poignant tale of love and life gone wrong, where the ultimate attraction is in the actual realism portrayed between its pages.
This is a story that needed to be told and I feel richer overall for this humbling experience.
I am ever so glad I got to read this ARC and though not a newcomer to Natasha Knight this was definitely different to what I usually expect from her scribblings.
Different in a good way that is, it's certainly been a memorable journey, one that I am so not going to forget in a hurry.

I adored your unconventional love story, Sergio & Natalie and you both definitely deserve your moment in that spotlight.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "Sergio" A Dark Mafia Romance of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Di solito non leggo mai la lettera degli autori, ma in questo caso sì. Capisco quanto sia stato difficile per l’autrice scrivere questo libro. In Sergio è racchiusa la bellezza e la devastazione.

RECENSIONE COMPLETA: https://loscrignodelleletture.blogspot.com/2020/01/recensione-sergio-dark-mafia-romance-di.html

Sergio Benedetti is the next in line to take over for his father, Franco, as the head of his mafia family. Sergio knows how dangerous his line of work is and deep down he knows that everything can change in an instant.

Natalie Gregorian was 14 when she was first saved by Sergio in a robbery where a man attempted to rape her. Then years later she finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time when she hears Sergio dealing with an unfortunate situation.

But Sergio decides to spares Natalie's life and soon he finds himself not being able to stay away from her, regardless that it now puts her life in danger. Can Sergio save Natalie from the life he was born into before it's too late?

I struggled with how many stars to give the book as I hated the ending but I really enjoyed the rest of the book.

Sergio was dark but it was completely understandable with how he grew up and how his family was. He was so protective of Natalie from the moment he saw her again and I loved how he did the little things - like making the house more secure. He cared so much about Natalie but knew something was off and was expecting the worst to come.

I liked Natalie and loved how she was torn between how much she cared about Sergio and a life she wanted nothing to do with. She knew how dangerous Sergio and his family were but she had a hard time staying away. There were times when you thought Natalie may be able to break free but she was still so torn with other things that happened.

There was so much love between the two of them and I was definitely scared a few times towards the end of the book with some of the twists. I still believe that there is someone within the family that has betrayed Sergio's family.

The ending completely broke my heart and this is the first book I have read in this series so I know I have to go back and read the other two!
