This latest (and second to last) Septimus Heap book has all the characters we love along with the humor, but it's more exciting and scary than the other books--in a good way. Walt and I really liked it!

Again a very good book of a good series. Nice and riveting plot. Highly recommended.
Can't wait for the next installment. Also Jenna getting more irritating. My least liked character. Missed Wolf Boy and Aunt Zelda. Only a page for them in the entire book.

A great and thrilling book with lots of character development and growth for many. I can really feel we're getting closer to the end though, even this could have felt like an ending to the series!

This book was darke. Both literally and figuratively. There were some points where I was like omg this is a kids books, and the thing wouldn’t happen. But sometimes the thing did happen.
The first third of the book, I wasn’t super impressed. The last two thirds, I was harshly reminded why I loved this series.
Something I thought was cool was that you could tell Septimus and Jenna are 4 years older than when the series began. And not just because it was clearly stated.
I also thought it interesting that the first half focused mainly on people not Septimus but the last half was mainly Septimus.
