I have a weakness for supporting scheming murderous women.

I love this. I was skeptical at first because I though her husband would be more physical violent towards her which I do not like reading about. But this is was good. Morally grey and delusional characters are the favorite things.

This book is not for everyone but It was perfect for me.

Honestly. This took me more than a year to finish because I kept putting it down. I don’t like not finishing books so here I am. It should be 1 star but the end was intriguing so 2

Thank you to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Not my cup of tea. I found the protagonist to be insufferable, and the story didn't really captivate my attention at any point. All of the characters felt really one dimensional. What really irked me throughout though, was the author talking trash about other books—in particular, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara. I personally loved that book, but I fully understand why it's not for everyone. That being said, it feels incredibly petty to write a whole book that continuously trashes a bestseller beloved by many, particularly one written by a woman of color. Even if ALL was a book I didn't enjoy, it just felt like a weird move by Yeatman.

So dark and funny- reminded me of an Ohenry tale or Dahl’s adult short stories- very clever

Mostly a woman dreaming about getting out of her marriage. Active imagination because she is always reading. Well written, just didn't care much for the plot.

This is really dark and really delightful at the same time. I wouldn't read too much about the book before reading it--just know it's about a woman who falls in love at first sight when she sees a man reading the same book as her at a cafe, but there's just that pesky husband of hers that's in her way.

literally just read this whole book in a matter of hours NOT because it was good (as reflected by my rating) but because i knew within a few chapters it was not going to have the vibe that i wanted it to..... i wanted something kind of weird and kind of funny (which is what dark comedy implies!!) but instead i got....... a lot of garbage!! and pretention!! and very flat characters, no discerning personality traits to be found at all! i'm really torn between a 1 and a 2 so i think i'll keep it 2 but YEESH!!!!

an interesting fact about this book is that i think this is the most times i've seen breasts mentioned in the Literary Way (aka at very unnecessary times) in a book by a woman!! so congrats to ms. yeatman for that i guess!! also the weird astral projection sex........ what was HAPPENING......

anyway my advice is to not read this book, ESPECIALLY if you are a bookworm! thank u!

DNF at 47%.

I kept hate-reading, but life is short. Also, the protagonist of this book did that with her book-within-a-book, and that one didn't get better - maybe that's a nod to how this book doesn't either. I'm almost halfway through the book and the main character is mostly pathetic, daydreaming about her emotionally abusive husband being killed in a myriad of ways instead of, you know.. leaving and getting a life? Ugh.

This was a wild ride. Kinda only eh. Like it wasn’t good by any means. But I would probably totally still recommend it to someone. An unreliable narrator who’s lowkey a witch?! Idk what this book was on but it was kinda silly in a way I liked¿ like that main bitch was horrible yet sooo intriguing. What was the point haha.
