Initially, I enjoyed this book. I came to not like the really brief segmented parts of this book. While I was expecting this book to provide support and encouragement as an introverted mother facing challenges of extroverted aspects of raising a child (and having an extroverted child), instead it was more of a justification towards why it’s okay to feel this way. Okay to shun your child? Okay to isolate? Okay to feel like you’re going mad amongst the stimulation? This felt like the authors own passion and deep dive into authors or poets she admired that shared like mindedness, rather than a biblical context of overcoming some of these challenges. After awhile, I didn’t feel like I was gaining a whole lot. It just reiterated what I already know about myself- but rather then feedback in feeling challenged by this— it was more an affirmation of why you shouldn’t feel guilty of being like this. Stopped listening shortly after the whole “self care” discussion, which is such a current worldly developed concept. Ugh.

3.5-4 ⭐️ (I do wish there was the ability to only mark half of the star on here haha)

Well, now I know I'm really not alone in parenting as an introverted highly-sensitive Mumma.

As I am an introvert who had already done a lot of research about introversion, a lot of this was not new to me. It was still refreshing to read, and some things were freaked for me in a way that was freeing. This is full of encouragement, which was really helpful at this particular time. I could have done without the bits about the authors; I appreciated it as they are some of my favorites, too, but looking to them as examples of introversion when I know the unhappiness that was in their lives and not fully discussed here, took away some of the encouragement.

Felt like I was talking to a friend! I enjoyed her insights and validation. Being in a mostly extroverted family it’s helpful to read why some of my behaviors exist and how to use them well. I loved reading about different moms too! Nuggets of gold to take with me in parenting.

This book breathed life into my soul. It spoke to me through each and every chapter and removed so much guilt from my heart about needing alone time and struggling with mothering 4 small kids full-time (something my heart always desired).

Wonderful book. I'm no Christian, but it didn't bother me in this book. This was a comfort to read for introverted minded moms to read. Not perse a book with solutions, but a lot of "me too" and "thank god (no pun intended) I'm not weird"

I needed this book. It helped me see I’m not a terrible mom just a different kind of mom and let go of the long held guilt.

I really liked her long and practical list of self-care ideas for introverted moms.
