James O'Barr

The comic that inspired the movie, J. O'Barr's paean to Goth culture is pretty good, if a bit over-florid in the way that Alan Moore comics of the same era were.

Definitely a must read for anyone whom loves the movie. Its great seeing how different the movie is compared to the graphic novel/comics. This version of the graphic novel I read had extra scenes within the story that the original comic books didn't have in them at the time. The art is great and the story is great as well. There isn't too much not to like about it.

I own this book and have cyber met James O'Barr. Absolutely obsessed.

I've always loved the movie, but somehow never read the book. So glad I did! Will soon be reading spin offs to get more of the story.

I absolutely love the (original) movie so it’s no surprise that I also loved this book. This might just be me overthinking, but I feel like this could be also viewed as an “attack on Mother Nature” type story.

Amazingly tragic love story. You can feel the authors pain with each turn of the page. Speaks volumes and relatable to those that have been through the angry pain of losing something that they love.
