A step up from Half Asleep in Frog Pajamas, but I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as Jitterbug Perfume. Tom Robbins loves to sprinkle Asian mysticism, scent, bizarre men and over-the-top nubile women into his novels. I think this will be my last Robbins novel: his go-to themes are feeling tired and his descriptions of sex more gross and disturbing.
saw "then" used instead of "than" and unfortunately I am petty enough to DNF for that at this point !!

This book defies explanation. I didn’t like it at first, but I wanted to stay with it just a little bit and then I got hooked. It’s worth a read, but again hard to explain.
