Second Wodehouse book that I've read (and second Jeeves & Wooster, too)!

I'm fairly certain I'm not reading them in the order they were written/published (I started with Carry On, Jeeves), but the wonderful thing about the Jeeves & Wooster series is, it seems, that you can pick up and go at will and it won't really bungle things too massively.

One of the reasons I have enjoyed the bits so much is because you can follow it so leisurely. If I had wanted to take time, I could have, but instead I devoured it in one day (oops). In a few hours, even.

It, just as previous fare, falls along the same trail as does Carry On, Jeeves. The story is warm-hearted enough to make you smile over it, yet gives enough anxiety so that you wonder just HOW Bertram W. Wooster might extricate himself from THIS mess? Jeeves is never far at hand, thankfully, and offers much relief.

The thing that I love most about this little series (if I can even offer up an opinion being I've only read two books) is that it is genuinely funny. I found myself laughing out loud in more than a few spots, whether it was over the word-play or Bertie's silly phrasing/manners, and once I even rather snorted over the story.

It's simply nice to be able to come to Wodehouse and know that if there ARE problems and upset, it's never anything TOO tragic and in the end everything will be sorted and everyone will be happy enough. It's a nice comfort to have and to return to, in my opinion.

There was much giggling to be found here! We also just watched the show, so the copious references to other adventures were fresh in our minds, which made it even better.

Fun and almost slap-stick comedy. Narrator nailed the voices.

Listened using Chirpbooks.com.

Comedy, comedy, comedy. Did I mention funny? I listened to this on cd, replaying multiple parts over and over again as they were the very definition of humor - then I looked up the word humor in the dictionary, and was comforted to find, 'Humor: definition of: read P.G. Wodehouse, 'The Cat-Nappers.'
