I did not go into this with any expectation except I wanted to get to throne of glass. The OCD part of me meant I had to finish this before throne of glass to. So at first it was such a chore. But it soon turned into an adventure that capture my heart and pulled me along.

Because I went into it without any real idea of what I was getting myself into I had no idea how deeply and hard I would fall for Sam Cortland. And therefore how shattered I would be by the end...

Now staring at the other 7 books... I have to step away. Facing this world Sarah has built but without Sam is enough to make me tear up again. One line that really summed it up for me was when Celaena said, "She would tuck Sam into her heart, a bright light for her to take out whenever things were darkest."

Overall I ended up loving this novellas and that's coming from someone who normally hates short stories. But each one was an adventure and helped me to connect to Celaena in such a powerful way. I cannot wait to step back into this world and see where Celaenas journey will take her. But first I need to let my heart heal.
