Butterface was so entertaining! An extremely fun read that was light, sexy and sweet with really likable characters. I absolutely enjoyed this!
I really liked Gina and Ford and getting to know them. They were awesome! I like how they met, the obstacles in their way, and what they went through to get to their HEA. They had great chemistry and I liked their interactions, I loved the building heat between the two. I loved how strong Gina was and enjoyed learning about her history. I felt angry on her behalf so many times for some of the things she had to deal with on her life. I don’t know if I’ve ever read a character like Gina before and it was refreshing. Ford was a sweetheart and I really loved how he saw who Gina really was. He made mistakes along the way but I like how dealt with them and they worked it out.
There are some crazy circumstances that bring them together, creating some obstacles and drama but for the most part, this was a light, easy read with some emotion mixed in. There were a lot of entertaining scenes and I liked the interactions with her hard-headed brothers and how things played out with them in the end. I really enjoyed the Hartigan family as well.
This was a fast paced story but really fun. I liked the humor and I couldn't stop smiling with some of their interactions, it was just flat out entertaining. This was my first Avery Flynn book and it won’t be my last. I'm really excited for what's to come next in Muffin Top!

I'm really glad I did not listen to the other reviews. Lots of people have given up on this book because they were "offended" by the title and the behavior of the people in this book. Why? These things happen in real life. There are jerks who say and do these things. Does it suck? YEEESSSS. But this book seemed more real for me because of that.
Butterface is a heartfelt book and I appreciated the insight into Gina's experience. It made her reluctance to believe in Ford understandable and each time he disappointed her, I felt it stronger. It's rare that we can read a book about someone who is not classically pretty. Most of us are normal and we have parts of us we resent. This book was more relatable to me than any of the books I've read lately about women with ridiculous bodies and beautiful faces.
This book was all about the feelings. In the end, Gina becomes beautiful to Ford because of his love for her and isn't that what we all want? For the person we love to see us as beautiful?

Ok, I'll just be upfront and say I'm just not into "romance" aka (smut, porn fiction, etc) anymore. I know plenty of people are, and they might just love this. Once upon a time, I might have too. Now, it's hard for me to read descriptions of sex or masturbation without rolling my eyes. It just comes across badly. I wasn't into the story enough to just deal with it either, I decided to DNF. The sex, the jumping into bed immediately (literally), as many others have mentioned, it is a little exhausting to hear how unattractive the MC is in a constant litany.
