This was academic reading for me but one I found infinitely enjoyable. Perhaps it was because at the time of reading this, I was already an avid reader and had developed a love and appreciation of literature. My favorite character was Mr. Carton and I hated the bits about the beheadings on the guillotine.

I FINALLY FINISHED IT!!! This book was a challenge and I have really struggled. To be honest this got me into the longest reading slump of my life. And it's not because I thought it was a bad book but it was really slow going and I only really got attached to Sydney Carton. And he really wasn't present that much. I had big troubles remembering all the characters and their names and the english was a bit too difficuly for me. The language was really beautiful though and at certain points the story was really good and really interesting.

Still I doubt I would have finished this without having bought this beautiful copy in Prague. Or if it wasn't very important in one of my favourite series The Infernal Devices.

Might be because it was an audiobook, but could not follow the narrative, nothing wrong with Christopher Tester he was great, just think I need to read the story rather than listening to it.
