This book is the sad reality of many communities around our country.
We must use our biggest weapon! Our voices. We must confront reality, stand up and do our part.
To begin with, we must protect literacy and education and stop the book banning. Keep on reading, writing and sharing.

Well told and empathetic. If you've heard the real life stories inspiring this, then it's like a really good story teller sitting down to explain to you how it might feel to experience then first hand.

Everyone should read this

This book was not what I was expecting. Going into books blind is so much more impactful sometimes. I don’t have any criticism for this book, or none significant enough worth mentioning.

How Chris’ character was written sealed the deal for me. I think the addition of his character was important to drive home the understanding for some of the reader base while simultaneously not being so important as to take away from the more important themes in this book. And writing that in while also having the presence of this character cause unease in the not only the outcome, but the atmosphere of this book was phenomenal.

I felt like the hope and relating consequences and outcomes this book portrayed was an impactful reflection of society at the time it was written and still continues to be to this day. This book was and is needed as an educational tool in the form of easy to consume content to even the most ignorant individuals.

One of the best books of the year for me. What a way to make and keep everyone complex and autonomous.

Read this book - you won't regret it.

Très belle histoire émouvante et réelle. Quelques longueurs m’ont un peu gênées.
