My favourite book in the series so far! So much action, and magic, and great new characters! Loved the villain, and all the animals of course.
I enjoyed this book, it's probably my favorite of the Daine books. Dinosaurs! But it also makes me incredibly uncomfortable. Numair's talk with Kaddar about not leading Daine on and the way he waves away any kind of accusation of impropriety and his comments about her turning into a young lady, it's very hard not to read as grooming.
Love to see a powerful woman go absolutely feral with rage.
This book was interesting. We see more relationships develop from the pre-existing ones and we see Daine loss her control and what damage that can cause. We see how powerful she could be and what power abuse looks like. Overall, this book was great and it shows the continuation of learning in wild magic. Daine still hasn't learned all her power yet, which tells us something. I ask myself the question...what else can she do? I find her one of the most powerful people in this world solely because her connection with animals allows her to do so many things.
