I liked Alexia and her fellow band of not quote human characters. It was a fun story that made me laugh out loud at times. It's also pretty silly and over the top too but ultimately entertaining.

This book brings together so many things I love: kickass female heroines who don't dress like they belong in a film mockery of an S&M video, food, vampires and other such magical types, love, dirty scenes, and the London Season. Didn't see that last one coming, did you? Well, it's true. [a:Gail Carriger|2891665|Gail Carriger|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1257289860p2/2891665.jpg] manages to fit all these things into [b:Soulless|6381205|Soulless (Parasol Protectorate, #1)|Gail Carriger|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1314020848s/6381205.jpg|6569140], a book that is more funny than sincere, more romance than steampunk, and less creepy than you might think when you realize what the main couple has to overcome. Basically, I recommend it, despite being skeptical when I picked it up. It's fun in so many ways.

Historical Urbane Paranoraml fantasy, I had very mixed feelings about Soulless. Overall, I enjoyed many things about Soulless, the writing, the characters, setting, and even the plot. And yet, I didn’t love the book as much as I’d hoped I would. And it stems to the romance aspect of the book.I loved the werewolves and vampires. They were all fun to read and had their own unique personas. Lord Akaldama being my favorite character. The creation of the soulless creature was also fascinating. There are some good things about Soulless and I do kind of/slightly look forward to Changeless, the second book the series, I just wish the romance aspect of this book was a bit better. Not a victorian period fan.

This book defies catagorization, but is 100% awesome. I think I am beginning to like the steampunk concept.

Ms. Carriger has created an alternate Victorian England, full of vampires, werewolves, and a visit from the queen. Part mystery and part romance, this book was unbelievably good. I almost expected Dr. Who to show up in the middle. Can't wait for the next installment!

I liked this book, but it took me a bit to get into it.

I really like the idea of a preternatural/soulless as a species. The idea of being able to take away someone’s powers is pretty cool and I bet can be used well in a story. I also liked finding out about the automaton that was very Frankenstein-esque.

The love story was just raunchy enough. :)

May come back and read the others, but not itching too right after finishing this one.
