Laugh out loud, great plot twists. Very well written.

Real, relevant, and "out there" all at the same time.

What on earth is going on here? This book is all over the place. The writing is confused and schizophrenic. This story does not draw me in or make me care at all about the characters. I'm not sure who I'm reading about in what time period half the time. It feels like the author took regular breaks in the writing process but, instead of picking up where she left off, just wrote down the next thing that came into her head. No planning, no structure. Not good at all!

Reread ahead of reading The Candy House. A really magnificent book. I loved it up until the final chapter, which falls flat compared to the rest. Hope the (sort of) sequel does a better job of handling “the future.”
