Neil Gaiman's mystical fairytales really do it for me. This one is sadder and less expansive than Stardust. I'm guessing it's more of a personal story for him. But it draws me in so well with its mystery, has me turning pages with its adventure, and gets me reflecting on life.

I liked this, but I didn't love it - I wish I could give it 3.5 stars. The writing was wonderful, and it was an engaging read, but it didn't pull me in enough at this stage in my life to warrant a higher rating. I think I would have REALLY loved this when I was in my early teens, though.
