I don't know Neil Gaiman... I loved Star Dust, but every other book of yours that I've read is just a little too nightmarishly fantastical for me. Too dark and too out there.

I loved this. I love this. Everyone should read this.

I want to give every book I've every read 5 stars be issue they've all contributed to who I am and who am I to judge them in any other way than perfect? And this book gets 5 for making me realize that.
No.
I want to call everyone I've ever met my best friend because influence is subtle and rich, it buries itself deep within us leaving an indelible mark and flutters around us in magical whimsy.
No.
I want to erase all of this because I've given away too much about this book.
No. Because you'll read this and think something different and that little difference is eternal.
We are not bound by much at all, are we? And yet life remains a fragile whisper, doesn't it?

The Hempstocks and our dear narrator, and especially Neil Gaiman - thank you.

Really enjoyed this book and found it hard to put down. It could be read in one sitting easily. Gaiman fans won't be disappointed - there is magic, humor, mystery, and darkness. It is classified as an adult book, but I think mature kids could handle it (there is one sex scene, but it's told through a 7-year-old's eyes). It was vivid and creepy, beautiful and enjoyable.

Wonderfully eerie and creepy.

You don’t fail at being a person.

There is a Gaiman-ness, a magic realism that pivots on the loosest of plots padded out by eerie, gripping images and ~feelings. He writes an experience, not a story. Something to get under your skin and wriggle there, making you a bit uncomfortable.

Either you like it, or you don’t.

I love Neil Gaiman's writing style, and I loved the first half of this book. The last half was a little anti-climatic for me.
