Loved Rosie’s first book and loved this one just as much. She’s a great, comic writer and heartbreakingly, has lots of material to work with. She’s brutally honest, and it’s a searing insight into mental health and how trauma affects you into adulthood, but written in a way that doesn’t depress you or crush your soul. I will keep reading her books as long as she keeps writing them!

Had to stop reading this on the train because I was trying to hold my laughter in and tears were coming out of my eyes.

I love how brutally open and honest Rosie is with her memoirs. She writes in such a way that is not only honest and emotional but will make you laugh as well

Thank you for sharing and for being so vulnerable, Rosie. This was an absolute page-turner. Her voice was so compelling, and in my favourite chapters, I felt like we were just chatting over coffee. It was a cathartic read for me, with many moments where I laughed or cringed or felt frustrated or was inspired. However there are a lot of wounds in her stories so I understand that this is not a book for everyone.

About a week ago I had a dream in which I was friends with Rosie. No idea where it came from but it compelled me to prioritise reading this. Pretty hard to put down - heartbreaking, funny, raw & real... This has been the perfect companion to my travel & now jetlag! Thank you Rosie!

A beautifully told sequel to her first memoir, Waterland tells stories of her life over the traumatic event of her best friend’s death. Some lies are weaker than others, but the thread of Tony’s death and it’s aftermath throughout carries the book well.
