The Fountainhead

I did not necessarily agree with everything said (to be expected for a book of this nature) but I very much enjoyed the character Howard Roark. Well worth reading, good insight to some things I believe very deeply. Others? Not so much.

I think a lot of people took this book the wrong way. There’s this amazing thing about books: we can interpret them any way we want to as long as its within the realm of reality. I can enjoy this book as someone who isn’t an objectivist, believes in collaboration and welfare, but also believes in individual expression and freedom from societal norms.

I read this I’m sure when Rand must be read for this book to be novel in any sort of way— on the cusp of being an adult, so just juvenile enough that any of the horrors that others say that this book contains is beyond me, I guess.

I think half of my enjoyment of this book comes from the absolutely wonderful person who recommended it to me who was much like Roark himself.

I completely disagree with Ayn Rand's philosophy. However, I enjoyed this novel immensely and found the characters fascinating.
