Good read
It was a good story. I feel like the climax was a bit anticlimactic and the story with her dad could have been upped a bit in terms of stakes but it was a good story. I enjoyed the characters.

cute, easy to read, no brainer book that is your classic marriage of convenience & workplace trope
Wasn't that impressed with this...and I can't exactly pinpoint what's wrong with it. Writing was decent enough. Characters were ok, but nothing special. This is part of a series, insofar as there are characters from previous books that make appearances and you don't really know their importance and significance unless you've read those previous books, and that part was undisclosed prior to me reading this. If I had known about it, I likely wouldn't have read it! That being said, I think this is a "one and done" author for me. Just couldn't get into anything with this book!

I wasn't going to review this. But as I was reading another book, I just kept coming back to how i felt about this one. I loved Nate in Stealing the Bride. He was the friend that Court needed to get through life. That being said, lusting after your "Executive" Assistant is a bit cliched and overdone. It's still hit, but the ending is all the same. I underestimated Nate when he was first introduced. I thought he was an airhead billionaire that only cared about the number in his bank account. But that is the furthest thing from the truth. He is devoted to the charities that his company donates and supports, he gives those that work for him generous tips, he knows how employees lives and what goes on in them. If he were my boss I might just fall to his feet. His assistant Evie is another story. She hasn't had it easy. Raised by a single mother that lived paycheck to paycheck and then being driven out of her home town after her relationship with her boss goes sour, leaves Evie feeling wary of everything. I liked Evie. At first. But then she went on and one about how Nate should spend his money, how he's a lightweight and can only handle three drinks (seriously?!), and those stupid green shakes. She's dimmer than a dim crayon. He only did those things to impress her and get a confession from her. The ending really made me mad. When her dad randomly popped back up, how did she not connect the dots that he only recently "found" her after she married a billionaire? I mean, she was wary of her ex-boss from her hometown when he wanted a boost, but not her dad. SERIOUSLY?! And then to take take it out on Nate. He was protecting her mother, which is the only way he knew. But she still put a lot of the blame on him which I could not give over. I was ashamed with the way that Nate handled the "power" situation. I think that him signing everything over to Evie was a huge mistake. I liked the story and I would have loved it even more if Evie hadn't been so judgmental.
