I feel like the book had potential but wasn’t developed correctly. The story is too much but whenever I was reading I was like okay , I guess it’s fine because they need all these things for the drama. But stuff kept adding up and it was all too much.
Also, I was expecting more emotional development but everytime there was a cute moment, it was ruined by pure smut. It was too many smutty scenes.
Also something’s felt repetitive so I started skimming through the book

Are we KIDDING MY GOD. This book was even more insane than the last one. This book had me stressed, on the verge of tears for Stacey and Kade and everything they’ve lost, and so so angry at Bernadette and her sick husband, along with Chris who all three deserve the most unimaginably horrible endings known to man. We finally progressed through all the flashbacks of Stacey and Kade’s relationship as teenagers, and it truly is heartbreaking to watch the innocence and the wholesomeness of their love get twisted by all of those people around them. They’re compelling characters that you can’t help but root for. I enjoy that there’s layers to this story besides just being smutty, because at the end of the day, it’s a love story about two people trying to defy all the sick odds stacked up against them. I was SHOCKED how this ended, and I am so scared for Stacey it’s unreal, I hope Tobias makes his appearance next book and gives these antagonists what they rightfully deserve, and I hope Stacey and Kade can finally escape this hell they’ve been in and start to heal!

i really liked the book. honestly. Leigh really has a way of keeping me on my toes here and i can't wait for the next one. I found myself literally adoring Base and Barry. like, those are my two comfort characters right now with this series. I did not expect to love Base as much as i do, but he grows on you. I absolutely loved the book so much. The flashbacks had me in my feels though. I would be sitting there reading at work and be on the verge of tears. They did very well of painting Kade and Stacey's relationship before disaster stuck and made it all the more heartbreaking. it had it's issues and Chris still exists, unfortunately, but overall, I really liked it.

now, the version i had (kindle) had a few grammar issues that had me laughing. so. those are there. I also very dislike the phrase "morning wood" and i just. no. i saw it in the first book and hoped it would never be said again, but it did. i really hope it doesn't get said in the last one. but other than that, i have no major complaints
