I read the majority of this book in a day, it was really fast paced (in a good way) and brought me into the story really quickly.

I loved the complexity of the characters and seeing how they developed.

I don't know much about the Vietnam war but this book painted a really good picture of the realities veterans faced. It made me feel anger and frustration along with them as they went through what I'm sure many actual nurses and soldiers experienced.

This book was really heartwarming and hopeful at the end, and I was so pleased that Frankie found acceptance and love in the end.

A really beautiful read.
