A type of life led that needs to be told. This is a book with no plot, just moments of a woman living a solitary life in the city. Filled with the simple things; her routine coffee from the store, the warm sun on her skin, the unnamed neighbours she notices. In the end, things does happen to her routine solitude life that she needs to confront- change or remain static. There are chapters she talks about her origins and background, and with beautiful command in English prose from the author, made me read it in tears.

Made for a nice road read but there's something lacking I can't place that prevented me from wondering more about the main character.

Short audiobook,it didn't speak much to me. The characters seemed plain, uninteresting, the plot unexisting, and there was no development. I get that it is supposed to be a snapshop of this character's routine, but you know what? her routine is boring. Such a shame because I really really really liked her collection of short stories: The Interpreter of Maladies

I love Lahiri, but this one was disappointing. I found the woman whose whereabouts we’re following to be boring and kind of insufferable.
