I really liked this concept. I did feel bad for Heather though and the Police was not fair to her as their logic made no sense. Her fingerprints are on a knife in the kitchen…maybe because she lives there?? I did find her reintroduction into society interesting though and appreciated how hard it was for her. The ending shocked me slightly but a lot I had already guessed so it wasn’t the ending I would have liked. I would try more of T.M. Logan’s books though.

Always good at twists and always an easy read. However not one of my favourites.

Ten years ago Heather woke the morning after an argument with her husband, only to find the worst possible scenario downstairs - her husband was dead. Little did Heather realise that morning that her nightmare was only just beginning, and that she was about to be accused of his murder. Now, a decade later, Heather is ready to do whatever it takes to get her life back.

This is the second book I've listened to by T. M. Logan, and was another hit with me. I quickly picked up on the initial twist, which made me nervous that I might see all the twists coming. Thankfully, I was wrong. Beyond that early reveal, Logan took the story in directions I didn’t anticipate, keeping the suspense alive throughout.

Heather was a character I liked and admired - she's resilient, compassionate, and steadfast in her pursuit of the truth. Despite everything she’s endured, she never loses her sense of integrity. I appreciated her friendship with Jodie and the network of support she had; it added depth and heart to her journey.

The pacing is brisk, and the narrative is filled with enough action and intrigue to keep you listening eagerly. While I felt confident about Heather’s character, other cast members kept me guessing, and the ending genuinely took me by surprise—in the best possible way.

Yes, you could poke at a few plot holes if you’re determined, but honestly, I was too wrapped up in the story to care. Logan knows how to spin a thrilling tale, and I’ll definitely be diving into more of his work soon.

I felt that the pacing was too slow for my liking and the story isn’t picking up.
