This was a decent read! Sometimes the 2nd book of a series is a hit or miss with me but this wasn't too bad! While Tally still isn't my favorite FMC, I appreciate how she is written and that she is trying to overcome her past mistakes. Looking forward to see where this series leads!

I enjoyed this book the most of the three, though I can't pin down exactly why. Seeing inside the world of the Pretties was fun, helped along by the fact that Westerfeld's writing style changed quite a bit to reflect Tally's new mindset. (I almost caught myself saying "bubbly" and "pretty-making" a couple times...) I found Zane a rather compelling character and of course wondered where he would eventually fit into the story (because of course, we had to come back around to seeing David again, right? )
In Pretties, Tally's journey to re-find herself mostly internal. Sure, she braves the wild again, but in this book focuses not so much on her struggles with nature but her struggles with her own mental workings. The story moved at a steady pace with just enough excitement and tension to drive the plot forward.

Once again, this was a lot of fun! I mean it's not my favourite ever, but still hugely entertaining. Loving this reading experience!
There wasn’t anything exciting or new from the first book. I still liked the book just didn’t love it.
3.5 /4 stars. Hated the pretty talk and didn’t realize what bubbly making was until the middle

This book was able to keep me wanting more of the series, which is good. However, I felt it lacked a lot of the things I wanted to see expanded from Uglies. Aside from that, I am excited to see what else lays in Tally’s path.
