Interesting story and a good read, but had a Lord of the Rings length of denouement. Well fleshed out but probably longer than it had to be.

Having been too young for the Beanie Baby craze, it always seemed to me like a wild internet story I couldn’t fully wrap my head around.
This book have the perfect mix of factual, contextual information to understand the circumstances that inspired the bubble, and the dramatic, shocking details of Ty Warner and his life.
Far more readable than I was expecting, it was an excellent insight into how Beanie Babies caught on, how fads and bubbles invariably end, and a very interesting human element with interviews with people who have collected, and even continue to collect, Beanie Babies.

Pretty wild read! Also, not a surprise, but there are so many parallels between Beanies and Crypto.

This was fascinating and a quick read. Ty Warner is a bit bonkers, but I will admit to having at least 30 Beanie Baby's in my closet so . . .

I had originally bought this book at a garage sale years ago and it stayed on my bookshelf, unread, for the longest time. Recently, I listened to a podcast that dove into the beanie baby craze and it sparked my interest. I half read the hardcover and half listened to the audiobook (from my library - libby), and finished it quickly! Very interesting and well written, the book covers the entire journey in a witty way. Fun, and niche read!

Certainly a fun read, though incredibly heartbreaking at times. That being said I found the structure somewhat lacking. It gave me some things to look into perhaps to learn more about beanie babies, but if you already know some the basics of what happened, it may be a book to skip. It made me somewhat hate any product Ty Inc has created, though I did impulsively purchase a Legs the Frog based on his description in this book.
