the plot contrivances were ridiculous. and I couldn’t quite get myself to suspend disbelief. a lot of it hinges on the
miscommunication
trope, which I’m coming to realize I dislike.

and although I did understand the affection between the two leads . the declaration of love occurs after
knowing each other for seven days
:(… not the vibe for a self-proclaimed disliker of
instalove
.

in short, it had tropes I don’t like and I didn’t know that going in. not the book’s fault.

for what its worth. I kept reading until the end. which is more than could be said about most other romance books I start and promptly don’t finish.

Got this on a whim from BOTM and was so happy I did. I love a romance with a little depth and this definitely had that! A perfect holiday love story

My sister has been recommending this book to me for ages, and I should have listened to her sooner. (That being said as a mood reader and ADHDer I’ll admit, I intended to save it for later and then promptly forgot about it. )
I lovee good banter, authors that write incredible banter between romantic characters have me in a choke hold, and Alison Cochrun is now one of those authors. I loved Ellie and Jack so much, both individually and together, flaws and all.
I love the character development of Ellie and Jo, as well as the development of side characters and their relationship.

This book was so absolutely cute and I flew through it. Not just because it's sapphic though that certainly didn't hurt its case.
Ellie and Jack had the most wonderful energy and chemistry; it made me giddy from pretty much their first introduction.

I could definitely see myself re-reading this again and it was the perfect read for the Christmas/winter season.

I received a free e-ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

The wholesome wlw Christmas romance novel I didn’t know I needed! I wish there had been more moments between Jack and Ellie as a couple and a little less build up, but overall a very cute holiday read.
