My favorite of the recent WMCs. A realistic plot, an actual police procedural and a little less Lindsay family drama. I really liked the immigration story to tie in to Las Posadas.

A New Year's surprise!

After binging The 17th Suspect and The 18th Abduction, I jumped right into The 19th Christmas, and it delivered exactly what I wanted—fast-paced action, easy-to-follow storytelling, and the familiar dynamic of the Women’s Murder Club.

This one had a bit of a different feel, with a holiday backdrop adding some contrast to the high-stakes chase for a criminal mastermind planning a massive heist.  Lindsay, Joe, and the rest of the team are racing against time, and while the case itself kept me engaged, I also liked the personal moments woven in.  The mix of festive and suspenseful made for a fun, quick read.

It’s not the most intense book in the series, but it’s still a solid installment.  If you enjoy these characters and want a crime thriller with a holiday twist, this is an easy one to fly through.

To everyone who gives these one star & says they have given up on the series, I say: "You're just reading them wrong." These are humor novels. By chapter 23 I have already laughed out loud twice.

These are a stereotypical 1980's suburban housewife's idea of police work, of the law, of seedy neighborhoods, of romance. Every suspect (and witness) is a DIRTBAG PERP! Every child is a sweet angel baby. Every slightly dangerous situation MAY END LINDSAY'S LIFE (and she always has to ruminate on that end and what may come next for those she loves. Every time a gun goes off it's a WAR ZONE! (or a BLOOD BATH!) They are hysterical, trust me.

This one is a little boring compared to the last one. It is an attempt at a caper, but it is unbelievable and silly but not in a fun way. If the SFPD were this inept, San Francisco would be the crime mecca of the universe. Like most of the recent titles, the whole solve of this case has little to do with the investigation. And the side stories are just distractions. I've said it before Maxine, concentrate on ONE case...ahh then it would be less soapy, I guess.

What the heck does the cover or the title have to do with anything? This one was blah. Didn't make me laugh nearly as much as the previous one.
