Both main characters are villains, I dislike the happy endings they’re given and hate a character that I guess should be loved. I feel kinda sad that a book that took 7 years to write is a book I hated to read but then again it felt like it took me 7 years to finish reading it.

Struggled with the characters, a lot of them are awful people. Got better as you went on but I just felt annoyed a lot.

so... i both did not like reading this book AND loved it
reading about unhealthy relationships, broken characters and troubled dynamics is always interesting — and interesting, this book was for sure. but it's not an easy read. i hate almost everyone, saved for a couple characters. i wanted the story to be over as much as i wanted it to go on. i would've loved to dive deeper into the characters and their issues but i would've hate to read about them for longer.
but coco mellors is undoubtedly an amazing, witted, smart and empathic writer. the story is so well depicted and written, switching point of views skillfully, grasping characters and their mind so intriguingly.
so despite everything, i for sure loved this book. mind the tws though!
