This book surprised me with how much I enjoyed it—romance isn’t my normal genre but I would be reticent to call this a romance. It’s more a human experience, a whirlwind of love and sadness and addiction, hectic and beautifully written.
Want to reread and annotate in future.

Do New Yorkers really take that many drugs? 😭

I have been meaning to read this book since it went viral. I only got to it now and it surprised me (it shouldn’t have)!

This is a five star review so I loved it. Immediately. It was smugly hilarious and immensely heartbreaking. Cleo and Frank are two impossible people that I enjoyed from the very beginning. They gave me hundreds of reasons to hate them but I don’t. I loved them. Despite being a man, Frank is my favorite character. He said things that were in my head. He did things I would have done. He made me swoon. He made me want to punch him in the face. I love him. I also loved Eleanor (whose internal dialogue sounds a lot like mine) and Santiago (the true romantic of the whole book). Anders can drown in a sea of ice water.

Just a perfect book about love, changing for yourself and the people you love, and of course, New York. Although, the portrait of the city is a little unflattering.

3.5, I actually feel this book touched on something I wasn’t ready to read. I don’t want to say I enjoyed it because it truly was gut wrenching but it did speak to me in some ways

took me nearly 100 pages to get into it found it quite boring at first but then the pace and plot got a bit more engaging however found almost all of the characters quite unlikeable which sometimes put me off
