Tightly constructed plot and very witty back and forth dialogue. Probably what makes this and Medea taught in school is the strong female leads both texts have which inevitably allows for some feminist angle.

As always, Sophocles' works are timeless, Antigone somehow relates to current society.
I am not, however, convinced as to whether I liked this edition. It was a bit colloquial to my taste and took away from the classical, perhaps more 'literary' aspects of Sophocles. That being said it made understanding the plot much easier.
I would enjoy reading another edition to compare.
