very nice? the writing is beautiful, i'm very excited to analyse it in class because right now it feels a bit basic?? i'm so sorry, but, it just feels like a basic tragedy with a basic moral lesson. that being said though i'm very excited to go deeper into it with our awesome lit teacher!!

also justice for ismene, creon should've fducked off at the end and let her rule

I don’t know how to rate this but it gave me nightmares. Does that make it good or bad? I don’t know. It was effective storytelling, and I love having a written link to such a distant past. It’s interesting to think about how long ago this was written.

Anne,,, continues to transform and make daggers of a text that could well be cobwebs. I've read other Antigones and this is absolutely Anne's Bitch (or second only to Kate). So this is going by (slightly tipsy) memory

I really enjoy her treatment of Death capital D here. At least compared to my recollection, Anne is keen to emphasise Death as the interminable Other, as the only meaningful striation amid cultural custom and so forth. Law is, masterful. Derrida would be proud.

She revivifies I adore it the talent,, I find she even mitigates (for the most part) the structural clunkiness we find with this play at the moment Tiresias arrives. Anne is of course quotable but she clearly possesses a dramatic intuition that justifies the sheening scan.

This play was not that bad. It has good messages. We learn not to be too prideful and to sometimes accept that we are wrong. Antigone is a good role model for women everywhere. She is a feminist and acts way beyond the gender roles given to women during the time.
I am definitely amazed at Sophocles' ability to write the Oedipus plays out of the chronological order! Mind blowing.
A very short play that I would recommend to anyone who likes Shakespeare or classics.
