A second chance romance that will have your heart shattering into pieces and aching for Miquel and Rebecca to find their happily ever after, but with so much history that still haunts them is it possible? After being away from his hometown Miquel is heading back to see his best friend get married, but Bluebonnet holds too many memories that left him hurt and bitter. He knew at some point he would have to face those demons that caused him to run, but coming face to face with the love of his life he has a lot of mixed emotions and isn’t sure how to navigate this situation. Rebecca loved Miquel with all she had, and she wanted nothing but the best for him, but life stood in their way and a lot of miscommunications left them both heartbroken, but could this be a chance to clear the air and move on or a chance to get back what they had? The emotions and tension run high with a lot of events happening but the love these two shared is still there they just have to reach out and grab after a few long conversations that need to be had. While I loved the characters, especially Miquel, there are times Rebecca frustrated me and I know she’s going through so much but so is Miquel. The story was emotional and beautiful, a tad long at times, but overall perfect angst with insane chemistry. I can’t wait to see what else we have in store.

Miguel and Rebecca’s relationship evolved as they grew up; however, when Miguel left their hometown to play football, the high school sweethearts were torn apart. The story starts a few years later when Miguel has to come home for their best friends wedding where they are the maid of honor and best man. The two are constantly reminded of what could have been and how they should be the ones getting married, but the past keeps coming back to haunt them. My heart broke for Rebecca during the flashbacks. She was going through so much and had no one to lean on, but Miguel had to follow his dream or he might regret her. She was in an impossible position, but thankfully their present is so much better than their past. I am excited to see what Bluebonnet Creek brings.

Anna B does it again. Creates such a beautiful world for these characters. And getting to dive back into Bluebonnet Creek just has my world soaring! I cried and laughed so much during the read, it truly had me feeling all the feelings. The things these characters have to go through, just really pulls on the heart strings, which is something I have felt with every book I’ve read by Anna.

I’m grateful to be given a chance to read this as an ARC, and I can’t wait for others to experience this book as well!

When Miguel left this hometown he did it with every intention not to come back, now three years later he returns for his best friend's wedding, and it's time to face everything he left behind, like his high-school girlfriend, the one who got away.

Becky has lived in the same town her whole life, she is taking care of her family and has no plans to move away from them, that was one of the reasons she and Miguel never had a future, as for the others no one knows what happened between them even years later.

As the story goes we see in flashbacks some of the most important moments of their relationship and the moment when everything went wrong.

Their love wasn't enough to make it then, but will it be enough now?

I am not always fan of second chance romances, but I enjoyed this one. Especially seeing as they both still were very much in love even if neither tried to fix things back then, but time and maturity has helped them to make it work this time. They had to make an effort to get pass what had happened in the past and heal, as they moved in the future.

The small town and all the side characters gave the perfect balance to the romance.

*I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

Tropes:
-small town
-second chance romance
-football romance
-childhood friends to lovers
-forced proximity

This book was so good and such a rollercoaster of emotions. Miguel and Rebecca were great main characters, and the story was so well written. This is the first book in the Bluebonnet Creek series, and I can't wait to read more.

These two characters had history and you could really feel the chemistry between them, being that they still cared for one another even after years had passed.

Releasing Decemeber 8, 2023. I recommend reading this book as it was a good read. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
