S.A. Cosby does it again. The writing was incredible, the characters had you loving them and hating them, especially Beauregard.

Can a former getaway driver leave the life of crime behind for their family? Cosby takes you on a journey to find out what one will do for their family.

I enjoyed this book a lot as an action/heist read, but didn't necessarily feel invested in the characters (especially the more minor ones), so some of the peril toward the end of the novel didn't have the emotional weight it perhaps should have. That being said, I enjoyed the author's writing and thought he was able to organically incorporate interesting points about racism, income inequality, nature vs. nurture, grief, etc. This was also a fast-paced read that kept me engaged throughout, and while it had some action-movie worthy shenanigans that didn't seem completely realistic, the characters still felt like they could exist in the real world. I also liked that the ending was a bit open-ended in a way that also felt like it could be true to life.

Took me FOREVER to read this book. It took a bit to get into the book but I was really into what was happening in the last half of the book.
