This was such a good, fun read! My only complaint would be that there are sooo many characters that it was confusing for a while. But once I got past that, the story was great! I can't wait to read the rest of the series!
There were times I hated this book and times I loved it. Sometimes there was so much to it i dreaded picking up the book
I would give this a 2.5 if I could. One of the very very rare instances I would say the movie was better! Seemed like he wanted to write a non-fiction book but couldn’t be bothered with all the citations so he just had characters give all the information about crazy rich Singaporeans in the form of dialogue. Never really understood what Nick and Rachel liked in each other besides that they were both attractive and apparently smart? Nothing in the writing made them seem particularly intelligent but we must assume so since they’re both professors.
On the positive side there were vaguely entertaining parts and definitely some laughs to be had. Astrid had the best story and I’ll probably keep listening to the audiobooks because I want to see how her story continues, but without her I probably wouldn’t continue on.

4.5 stars - this was one of the most entertaining books I’ve ever read, it’s like the book version of reality TV. Really well written, but I did have some problems keeping some of the characters apart, there were just too many. Can’t wait to start the second book!

They did TOO good of a job on this movie, lol.
On the whole, I enjoyed reading this, but I didn’t love the writing style. I liked the parts that deviated from the movie, but also Rachel and Eleanor facing off in mahjongg is definitely a more explosive ending than the book.
