This book is excellent and perfect about being what it is.
Okay, so I LOVE the movie and I was worried that reading the book would ruin it for me, but both were good. I like to think that the book and movie are two separate stories within the same world. One thing that did bother me was how different Astrid and Eleanor were in the book. To be honest, I liked how Astrid and Eleanor were stronger and more independent in the movie. However, with the book I did like the descriptions/world building and the expanded view of Nick's circle of family and acquaintances. It was a good listen and I'm definitely planning on listening to the next book in the series.
just me or that ended abruptly? but also audiobook was a phenomenal choice for that
I needed a break from some of the more serious things I've been reading, more of an indulgent romp to palette cleanse. This was a good choice for me, I thoroughly enjoyed Kwan's dramatic portrayal of the mega rich in an area of the world that feels very new to me. All the references to fashion was also fun, he seems to really know what he's talking about.
